Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is famous Indian actress, known for roles in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Her career began in the 1980s and came to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In her next film Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. In the beginning, as a girl growing up in Mumbai's middle class she began to learn how to dance. At the age of 15, she started acting but had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. Eventually, she found success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the very top. After her marriage, she took an interruption in her professional career. The actress returned in later years. In recent times, she was in a prominent role on the film Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women in India. Dixit has received 15 Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her fame is based on her social works as well.
